A two-year old register is a record, not a control.
A reinspection reassesses asbestos materials you already know about. It is not looking for new asbestos; it is confirming that what was found before is still in the condition it was found in, and that the controls put around it still work.
What we do
The surveyor reviews the current register and the original survey, then physically inspects each material listed, looking for cracks, fraying, exposed fibres and any other sign of deterioration. Each material is assessed using the HSE Material Assessment Algorithm, which weighs the material itself, its condition, how easily it releases fibres, its surface treatment, the extent of damage and its location. The surveyor then judges whether the existing control measures and recommendations remain appropriate, and updates them where they do not.

Why it matters
Materials in good condition present minimal risk. The risk rises as they age, get knocked, or sit somewhere they get disturbed. The reinspection catches that shift before it becomes an exposure, and it is the evidence that you have been managing rather than filing.
